Whether you want to have some fun, get in shape, meet some people, compete, or just adore the art of dance, let one of our instructors coach you to meet your specific goals.

The Cook's Professional Dance Academy offers two categories of dance instruction, Smooth and Rhythm. While similar, it is important to learn each style of dance independently so that when you've become a more experienced dancer, you can easily incorporate the elements you've learned in your lessons into any dance.

Smooth
The object of smooth dances is to travel more smoothly around the room, covering as much of the dance floor as possible. Couples should move as one, gliding fluidly and forcefully around the dance floor. If the couple were dancing on water, there would be no ripples in their wake.

Fox trot—This dance is like a breath of fresh air!
Tango—Try this sexy, confident dance on for size.
Waltz—Waltzes are danced with a rise and fall motion similar to ocean waves.

Rhythm
Evolving from a variety of styles, inducing Afro-Cuban origins, dances in this category are often passionate and have expressive movements that sweep couples or individuals across the dance floor. Both upbeat and graceful, these dances are a fun, great way to get your body moving.

Rumba—One of the most popular ballroom dances in America, if love had a dance this would be it.
ChaCha—The most popular Latin dance in America, it is a flirty, fun dance that anyone can master.
Swing—A dance full of character, couples are thrown back in time with this oldie but goodie.
Salsa/Mambo—Everyone wants to learn this fast and fun club dance!
Hustle—With a personality of it's own, this upbeat nightclub dance is quick and easy to learn.
Merengue—The simple footwork of this dance makes it easy for everyone to learn!
